I really appreciate you taking your time to let us know the facts(I hope not). Thanks.I sent it to Nebraska and it reache on July 3rd 2007 and it was trnasferred to Texas. I am not sure what's there in my profile, I just entered the dates when it didn't let me login to the site. It did not let login even if I didn't enter an RFE date and I had to enter some date. My I-140 was approved from Texas. One more thing, when I e-Filed for EAD and AP this year, it went to Texas, though IO gave a Midwest address which falls under Nebraska, I don't know why and I was surprised and happy too as Texas was approving the applications very fast, but mine is not yet approved (Applied on 29th June).

One employer had applied in 2004 and was in PBEC and did not get approved untill 2007 July, meanwhile I had applied another in EB2 through another employer and got Labor approved in Septmeber 2006 (less than a month) and I-140 approved (Premium) in November. After that I got three years H1 through new employer and moved to this company on 11th June 2007 Luckily everything was made current on July 13th and mailed my I-485 application on July 2nd (Just before they officially announced that visas were unavailable) and it reached on July 3rd. Again don't ask me how could I apply in EB2, when I did not do Masters in US. I have Masters from India and also had Five years of experience even before 2004, by then I was in US for more than 5 years. Also, when my employer applied Labor in 2004, I was just Five days away from my 5th year ending on L1/H1.
One more thing I bought a home in 2005 when my labor was pending some where, may be in Local Labor Department or PBEC or somewhere inbetween, and have been living happily. I am also worried about the GC but not paranoid about it.
Many guys here worry too much, just relax and live a peaqceful life. Jus think this, we are highly educated and would defintely be able to make a living anywhere in the world, not just US. Don't worry tooo much and think others have no work and want to fool you guys.

I think ur's was a simpler case than mine.
The problem with mine is that the entire name is on one single line and I would like it separated, first and last name on their respective lines. The NY consulate has refused to do so without an affidavit.
The procedures on the website also clearly say so for a name split:

Oct. 00: Initial H-1B
Oct. 03: H-1B extension
Dec.04: RIR filed (priority date)
Sept.06: RIR approved
Oct. 06: H-1B (7th year) extension

So here are my questions:

So why dont you see that this is not about helping a fellow human being in need. Everyone should do that. The sheriffs dept took her to the hospital to ensure that in case there is any complication, things could be take care of. Why? Because its the law and the majority in this country respect the law. No one, even illegals, can be denied emergent care. This would not happen if she were in Mexico or India. No free medical care there, and no one gives a shit about the rights of prisoners there.
If every one decides to choose for themselves which law they will obey and which they will ignore, society can not exist. And as I pointed out in my previous post, this woman has a history of repeated violations of the law and is NOT a victim that this biased article tries to portray her as.
And your theory about child birth leading to near death like pain is absolutely baseless. Pain is a subjective phenomenon and what is expireinced as a 9/10 by some hysterical yuppy, will be a 0 to others. Childbirth is a NATURAL phenomenon. Ask your grandma and she will tell you how every one delivered without epidurals and caeserians at her time.

No the core group doesn't oppose or endorse the idea. If you like the idea then go for it.
As for the media coverage, I was talking to a reporter last night and he agreed that this was a very good way to get media attention - so if people can increase the numbers, it would really help.
Additionally, here are my 2 cents on how the media coverage works. You think up of something unique and then create a buzz around it by talking about it in various forums, blog sites etc. So here's what I've done
1. Wrote about it on Desicritics: http://desicritics.org/2007/07/06/004733.php
2. Posted this message to South Asian Journalists Association mailing list (www.saja.org)
3. Talking to various reporters to cover this
You cannot get everyone excited about all the action items, correct? So if people are excited about this, why grumble about some of them not supporting other action items? I for one have actively taken part in all of them and I like this one as well.

If restraints are necessary in any manner under such conditions, they should be the least restrictive type possible to remain consistent with sound security practices.
So the warden can still order restraints.
The Sheriff or his officers are not Wardens. A Warden(the head of a prison) can order it if the inmate has demonstrated a history of assaultive behavior or escaped before. Neither applies. And the restraints have to be the least restrictive, not have both legs and hands shackled.

I want to bring up one point very clearly. Guys there is no one in Washington DC offices talking about the difficulties we are facing other than IV organization members . We need to lobby the lawmakers
3. Donate what ever we can ( 10 , 20 , 30$ etc..) to our cause in IV .

USCIS do have some checks and balances for the subst labor cases, so its not a staright approvals for the lab subst cases. their might be a possibility few lucky ones get off the hook, but overall USCIS can weed out the dubious/fraudulent employer petitions.
Sub labor is not the only reason guys, its just the country cap which is limiting india EB-3 and EB-2. Most of the H1Bs like us coming to us ends up applying for GC, now look at the number of H1Bs coming each year from india and the total number of GCs available for india. Their is a huge gap in these numbers, so unless they remove the country cap or recaptured unused VISA numbers from the past years, we dont see any relief.

On the contrary Air India is one of the best airlines now and I fly air India all the time .
You might not find young women in tight skirts as the cabin crew but the service of the middle aged Air-India crew is very good.
They have spanking new 777's with wide seats and latest entertainment systems. Tickets are real cheap and round trip to India can be as low as $650 to $700 with taxes per person . When flights are empty I can streach on 3 seats and sleep . JFK to Mumbai nonstop is only 13 hours , sometimes done in 12 also , which is what I spend sometimes when I travel from NYC to LA . On the contrary if you go through Europe it takes like 26 hours and immigration and all the hassle in London/Frankfurt and unecessary waste of time .Air India meals are Indian and not sphagetti and pasta like the western airlines( not to hurt the sentiments of the pasta , spagetti lovers ).
The staff is generous and many times I have been offerred multiple meals on the airline when they see that a person my size ( 6' 1) has to survive on a small morsel like that . :D. Drinks when asked are served generously.
The staff is very good and polite and last but not the least , it is my national airline .

I'll just shut up after this post now. You are obviously incapable of understanding my argument.
I'll continue to assume that IV is working for the interests of all EB based applicants, and not just those belonging to one particular country, especially at the expense of EB3-ROW. And I am pretty confident that the core and the majority of the members of this forum have enough integrity to let people like me know I am mistaken in this belief.
I do not care whether you contribute to IV or not. What I am writing here is law or facts and how it is affecting oversubscribed countries becuse of wrong interpretation of law. I am not here to unite or divide any group. In my level, I am contributing to end retrogression by sending mails to law makers. Even any law passes to remove retro, this misinterpretation of law is screwing Indians and Chinese. A EB2 person from Iran/Iraq/Pakistan with PD 2007 can get GC with in 6 months (right from PERM labor to 485 approval) why should Indian with PD in 2003 has to wait for ever?
My employer hired me not based on citizenship. They hired me based on their requirement for the job and my skills. They do not care, if I am male or female or Indian or Chinese or Iranian or Iraqi or Pakistani or European. I am penalized for just I am Indian not able to adjust LPR even I have priority date in 2003 after a long wait for Labor certification and 140 approvals. However, if I am from other than India and China I would have got GC with in six months even if my PD in late 2006. If a person with a Priority Date 2007 can become LPR immediately in EB2 category even if he is from a state sponsoring terrorism (provided if his background check is cleared). However a person from India having priority date in 2003 can not become LPR and sitting in dark to hope to see the light at the end of tunnel. How fare it is? I'll continue to assume that IV is working for the interests of all EB based applicants, and not just those belonging to one particular country, especially at the expense of EB3-ROW. And I am pretty confident that the core and the majority of the members of this forum have enough integrity to let people like me know I am mistaken in this belief.
I do not care whether you contribute to IV or not. What I am writing here is law or facts and how it is affecting oversubscribed countries becuse of wrong interpretation of law. I am not here to unite or divide any group. In my level, I am contributing to end retrogression by sending mails to law makers. Even any law passes to remove retro, this misinterpretation of law is screwing Indians and Chinese. A EB2 person from Iran/Iraq/Pakistan with PD 2007 can get GC with in 6 months (right from PERM labor to 485 approval) why should Indian with PD in 2003 has to wait for ever?
My employer hired me not based on citizenship. They hired me based on their requirement for the job and my skills. They do not care, if I am male or female or Indian or Chinese or Iranian or Iraqi or Pakistani or European. I am penalized for just I am Indian not able to adjust LPR even I have priority date in 2003 after a long wait for Labor certification and 140 approvals. However, if I am from other than India and China I would have got GC with in six months even if my PD in late 2006. If a person with a Priority Date 2007 can become LPR immediately in EB2 category even if he is from a state sponsoring terrorism (provided if his background check is cleared). However a person from India having priority date in 2003 can not become LPR and sitting in dark to hope to see the light at the end of tunnel. How fare it is? Is it not the discrimination by country of birth?

Kinda agree on the lack of momentum. One indicator being that IV hasn't been "In the news" since Sept 11 2007......a year back!!... This is from the IV website.
Would you help us compile all the news stories since then for the website. We just never had the time to compile them and post. There have been several stories about IV since then.
