I am kind of curious about onething - why is IV core is not saying anything about current house committee deliberations? - did I miss some posts. I am not trying to criticize or anything but just trying to understand if we are getting excited about something which is destined to fail already (I made all the calls and also personally made 5 others to make calls yesterday). If its a strategy not to discuss too much its fine with me - hope there is still a fair chance for 5882.

That's interesting...from my visits to various threads and from wait times of my friends (3 to precise) who recently got naturalized, the average time after receipt of N-400 to taking oath is around only 4 to 5 months.

I don't get this. Who is sponsoring this person's GC? He must have a sponsor to get the EB-based GC. He can't show his job skills as cooking !!:)
A desi consulting company brought him to the US. When they realized he wasn't going to get a project, they just didn't let go of him. Since he was a reliable guy (1. he can be trusted with monthly grocery payment 2. his labor can be sold later to others 3. he servres as an insider who can get information if other consultants are trying to be sneaky by getting their resumes marketed by another company, etc etc, basically he is an asset even thought he doesn't have a project), they just decided to keep him there. These companies don't have attorneys. They take care of all legal matters themselves. Now, how much is hte USCIS fee to file for labor? How much to file for I-140? Peanuts right? So they continue to keep his application active. How hard do you think it is to get fake references when you can make fake resumes. They have fake pay stubs. Fake experience. Fake this and fake that. Everything they do is fake.
So to others who have said that this thread has to be dropped, and have said that these desi companies are right in doing what they're doing, or who have blamed the system - I think that you are one of those people who are involved in such a racket. Not all professions can apply for H1Bs. You need to have specific skills that the US does NOT have. Someone on here had once posted that his wife could not work as a teacher although the school was ready to offer her a job, coz there is no H1B category for teachers. The H1B visa cannot help spouses in all professions. Hence my suggestion.
About how this will solve retrogression, IT WONT. My point is instead of trying to bring this retrogression beast down, maybe we should look at alternatives to work around it.

1. If we assume them as I485 apps, we also need to take Family numbers into account. So EB2 LCs can only be around 23000.
2. In 2007, Perm wasn't as hopeless as it is now. So people were getting LCs in less than 3 months.
So adding all these, here is my break up

2006 18000 8000 18000
2007-Pre 10000 8000 18000
2007-Post 15000 9000 20250

I switched job and applied H1B transfer a month ago. To my surprise we got H1B approval in two weeks even though we selected regular processing. Today I saw soft LUD on my case, my wife case and kid's case. So far no RFEs
Even though I got my H1b approval for three years a week ago by mail, still my online H1b status is showing pending. This H1b extension is 9th year to 12th year extension :):)

looks like this bill will not go no where ...there is only 3 cosponsors..:mad::mad:
all of them democrats, in a house of democrats.
and you dont need 15 sponsors for a bill. and having 3 sponsors does not weaken the merit of a bill. in fact most bills would only have less than 10 cosponsors.
And it was in the democrats' rule that the last EB favored legislation was passed.

If IV can outline how it is going to help, that would really make many people come out of the shelves. However, though we talk so much, people are still scared to identify themselves against the employer. However, they may be ready to outline everything against the specific employer as an anonymous person. we got to deal with a situation where people are ready but anonymously. How can we handle this.
A problem very similar to marriage breakups. People do not want to deal with the aftermaths of a breakup but willing to put up with crap from spouse.
GC being tied to employer has created all this situation.
If people are coming forward to complain - IV can help interace with auhorities, media etc..... COntact IV with specific issues.

I got a ref today the reason ability not to pay. They state that in line 21ordinary business income is less than what it should be according to PW and based on that employer was not able to PW in those years like from 2001 to 2006but the gross income was always in between 600000-1000000 each year. but can they relate your old returns with new PW. I mean does it matter based on your last 5 returns ability not to pay but currently I am drawing more than PW and my employer never filed tax`return with loss. pl. advice Does I need good CPA
