I don't see any improvement since 2005 except June/July 2007 fisaco. But people are still waiting since long time.

Since Visa numbers trickle down, the more visa numbers there are available, the more will trickle down to countries with high demand... recapturing visa numbers might be easier than taking a poke at per country limit.. IMHO...
Recapturing lost numbers is not a permanent solution. Per country limit 7% is ridiculous. We need to make sure we are not discriminated against by the per country limit. Its not my fault that someone from Europe doesnt want to come here and not so many from Africa or south america qualify for the EB visas.

Why will it move PDs faster than now? Thanks.
Because consulting companies dont necessarily cancel pending labor applications when somebody quits. They let it run through the process and use that to substitute to a new employee. If they cant use it due to this new law, nobody else would jump in front of us in the queue.
Not sure whether this will help to move PDs faster, but will help a little. At this pace, if you can expect GC in 15 yrs, if Labor substitution is eliminated you might get ur GC in 13 yrs. :( (Saves you a Whopping 2 yrs of wait time)

If we do not get this problem resovled who will ? All the members in this forum please start taking active part in determining your future your families future and your kids futures.. please do not be short sighted or procrastinate. Take Action NOW, we can do this, please encourage one more person to join in and contribute, talk to other people who are not aware of our plight and educate them, contact your local lawmakers, be active on the forums, support the core members and each others, come on now guys.. may be all of us cant do every thing but try some things at some of the times and some other things some other times :) -- does that make sense .. I wish I was very rich I would have made a HUGE donation to IV to fight for their cause... I really respect the core members for their tenacity, dedication and inner strength to carry on this effort.. admist so much uncertainity and so many obstacles .. and the best part is .. most of the people who will benifit from it dont want to do much about it ..... ok .. I am exhausted now.... Logic Life .. how do you do it .. keep churning out .. one passionate and well thought out post after another .. I like your posts... they motivate me .. keep up the good work .. IV has a lot of die hard supporters.... -- in the words of Dubya 'Lets Stay The Course' :)

Logiclife. I know why you are responding to these comments you all are frustrated with such comments. I know it is hard to not respond but please ignore these asinine comments. Please have some of these comments linked to the main page. But believe me "barking dogs seldom bite." Such people will ultimately sap your energy. But, just like how IV is asking people to contribute please also ask them to use their own judgment, they do this at their own risk. There are many people like us who have faith in your group although we know you cannot do miracles. Please have faith and I sincerely request to all members & moderator that once we see these comments let us move this to the some thread called “IV bashing thread” and let the rest of us completely ignore them.

My lawyer put in a SR on Sept 1. On Sept 11 i recd. the email saying that i was approved. My situation was similar to yours. Same company for 8 years, no RFE - infact no updates on my online status since Sept 2007 when it was first updated to reflect the fact that the application was recd at NSC. So i am assuming that SR triggered review of the application but with USCIS who knows.
Hopefully you will get your approval soon if my case is any indicator (admitted the sample size = 1)

it is good indeed. but i just happened to visit aila.org and it says this news "no more labor subs" is just a rumor of the day.
can u provide a link. This rule is bad for AILA because of the loss of revenue and hence they were against it. But since this is in the "Final Rule Making" process there's not much they can do. BTW u don't need to have the I140 approved for the LC sub to go thru. U just need the labor substitution approved stamp before the rule gets published.

i have been sending money 2 india for past 20 months .and they remit money with in 5 working days and ihave received the exchange rates prevailed on tht day. i have tried other remittance but feel icici isthe best. [my personal opinion.]
